Our Story - Our Founder
Kevin Gilmore is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience as a senior global executive, specializing in sports management and consultancy. Throughout his illustrious career, Gilmore has played pivotal roles in the transformation, growth, and success of some of the world’s most renowned sports teams and organizations.
As a distinguished 4-Sport Executive, Gilmore has held senior executive positions in four professional sports leagues: NHL hockey, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, and Thoroughbred racing and wagering. In 2016, he founded 4Sport Consulting, a company dedicated to advising clients across various aspects of the sporting world.
In May 2023, Gilmore was appointed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Stronach Group, following years of serving as an advisor to Chairwoman, President, and CEO Belinda Stronach. In this capacity, he focused on corporate objectives and key strategic initiatives, particularly within The Stronach Group's 1/ST business – North America's premier Thoroughbred racing and pari-mutuel wagering company.
Notably, Gilmore's tenure as Geoff Molson’s right-hand man from 2011-2016 saw him spearhead the transformation of the legendary Montreal Canadiens into a contemporary global brand. His innovative strategies, including the creation of the Club1909 loyalty program, the launch of the groundbreaking 24/CH weekly documentary, and record-breaking broadcast deals, significantly enhanced the club’s profitability and franchise value.
Transitioning to Major League Soccer in 2019, Gilmore served as President and CEO of CF Montreal (formerly known as the Impact), where he orchestrated a revamp of the sporting department - recruiting legendary Thierry Henry and up and coming Sporting Director Olivier Renard - and oversaw a rebranding effort to bolster the team’s global presence. Under his leadership, CF Montreal achieved unprecedented media attention and built a reputation as one of the league's most promising young teams.
A highly regarded figure in the sports industry, Gilmore's consultancy work has influenced the success of numerous professional sports teams. He has served on the boards of the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, and represented the Canadian Women’s National Hockey Team in their last two negotiations with Hockey Canada, demonstrating his commitment to advancing sports on both national and international levels.
Beyond sports, Gilmore's expertise extends to entertainment district projects and strategic partnerships. During his tenure with AEG, he played a pivotal role in developing entertainment projects in China and fostering collaborations with the NBA.
Gilmore’s journey began in the legal field, where he honed his skills at prestigious law firms before joining The Walt Disney Company where he was a key member of the team that moved the company into pro sports team ownership (Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Anaheim Angels), where he then transitioned to sports management. He holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from the University of Ottawa, a License in Civil Laws, and a Certificate of Completion in Finance for Executives from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
